How to Handle BPO Revision Requests Without Hurting Your Score

Every agent gets revisions. What matters is how fast and how well you respond.

Revision requests are unavoidable in BPO work. They only hurt you when they are slow, sloppy or repeated. Here is how to handle them well.

Respond the same day

Speed matters. Many vendors track revision turnaround as part of your score. Even if the fix takes time, acknowledge it quickly.

Fix the actual concern

Read the reviewer's note twice. If they question a comp, do not just add a sentence; check whether a better comp exists. If they flag a value, re-check your adjustments.

When to stand firm

Sometimes the reviewer is wrong or working from outdated data. It is fine to keep your value if you explain why with evidence: "Comp 1 was chosen over the suggested sale because it shares the subject's condition; the suggested sale was fully renovated." Be polite and specific.

Track your revision reasons

Keep a simple log. If the same reason keeps coming back from a vendor, it is a habit to fix, not bad luck. Common repeats:

  • Missing or mislabelled photos.
  • Comps too far away without explanation.
  • Numbers in comments not matching the grid.

Prevent them upstream

Most revisions trace back to rushed reports. A daily cap on accepted orders keeps your workload at a pace where quality holds.
