How to Change Your Notification Email on BPO Vendor Portals

Switching the inbox your vendors email is one of the best speed upgrades you can make. Here is how to do it safely.

If your vendors email an inbox that forwards slowly, every broadcast starts with a handicap. Moving your notifications to a dedicated Gmail address is one of the simplest ways to win more orders. Here is how to do it without missing anything.

Before you start

  • Create the new Gmail address and set up forwarding to your automation tool.
  • Keep the old inbox running for at least a month to catch stragglers.
  • List every vendor you are active with.

Where to change it

Most vendors put the notification email in your profile or account settings on the vendor portal. A few treat it as part of your vendor record, which only support can change. In that case, email vendor support from your registered address and ask them to update notifications to the new one.

What to watch for

  • Login email versus notification email. Some portals use your email as your username. Changing it may change your login too.
  • Multiple contacts. Some vendors send orders to one address and payments to another. Update the one that receives broadcasts.
  • Verification codes. Portals that email login codes will send them to the new address. Make sure forwarding is live first.

Confirming it worked

Watch for the next broadcast from each vendor in the new inbox. Tick them off one by one. If a vendor stays quiet for longer than usual, check the old inbox.

Why this matters: Yahoo vs Gmail for BPO orders.
