BPO Vendor Login Problems: Verification Codes, Lockouts and Expired Passwords

Most vendor login trouble falls into four buckets. Here is how to recognise each one and fix it fast.

Nothing costs BPO orders faster than a portal you cannot get into. Almost every login problem falls into one of four buckets.

1. Verification codes

Many portals email a one-time code when they do not recognise your device or browser. Enter it once from the same browser and the portal usually trusts that device for a long time. Clearing cookies or switching computers resets the trust.

2. Wrong username format

Some vendors want your email, others a numeric vendor ID. Class Valuation and some ThinkLattice accounts use numbers. If a correct password fails, check the username format first.

3. Temporary lockouts

Several failed attempts in a row can lock an account for a period. Stop trying, wait, then log in once carefully. Repeated retries during a lockout often extend it.

4. Forced password changes

HomeGenius, Class Valuation and others expire passwords periodically. The portal shows a change-password screen, and nothing else works until you complete it. Change it on the portal yourself, then update anywhere it is saved.

A quick diagnosis checklist

  1. Can you log in manually in a normal browser?
  2. Did a verification code arrive? If not, the password may be wrong.
  3. Is the portal asking for a new password?
  4. Have there been several failed attempts in the last hour?

If you use automation

A good tool tells you which bucket you are in. BPOFlow checks your login when you save it, shows "Portal requires password change" when a vendor forces a reset, and pauses login attempts after a failure so it never locks you out.
